International Project
Reading for Critical Thinking Santa Marta, Ecuador
The Idaho Council of the International Reading Association is working in conjunction with the International Rotary Club to advance literacy in Santa Marta, Ecuador. The teachers in Ecuador have a curriculum for literacy and are in need of funding for books and teacher training. The International Project is a state effort for the Idaho Reading Council and money and books are collected and sent to Santa Marta for distribution. Colorful scarves, handcrafted in Ecuador, are sold at various Idaho Reading Council functions.
